St. Mark’s is a one form entry Primary School founded in 1884 it is located in Mitcham in the London Borough of Merton. The common and other open spaces are within easy walking distance. It is situated in St. Mark’s Road and although we have close ties to St. Mark’s Church we are not a church school.
The children who attend the school come from a rich variety of cultures and English is an additional language for a proportion of them. The teaching and support given to children with Special Educational Needs is a strength of the school. which has been recognised by our obtaining Beacon Status. The school has recently been awarded the active mark, and is one of the first Merton Schools to do so. This award is given to us in recognition of our efforts to keep our pupils active and fit.
